For salons · South Africa

Your chair is busy. Your phone is not being answered.

Braids, a colour consultation, a Saturday slot, a deposit question. Salons lose more bookings to a slow reply than to price. AskZuri answers, checks your diary and books the client while you finish the head in front of you.

Where salons lose the work

It is rarely the quote. It is the hour between the enquiry and the reply. These are the three places it happens most.

Bookings arrive in the middle of a service

You cannot stop mid-fade to answer WhatsApp. The client does not wait — she books somewhere that replies.

Price questions need a real answer

"How much for braids" depends on length and style. A useful reply asks two questions and gives a range; silence gives nothing.

No-shows are pure loss

A confirmed booking with a deposit and a reminder is a chair that stays paid for.

What customers actually send

These are the messages that decide whether a salon gets the job. An assistant that answers them properly is worth more than another advert.

“How much for knotless braids, and how long does it take?”
“Do you have anything Saturday morning?”
“Can I come in today for a wash and blow-dry?”
“Do you do colour corrections, and what is the consultation fee?”
“How much deposit do you need to hold the appointment?”

What AskZuri knows about your business

You write it once, in your own words. The assistant never invents a price, a policy or a promise.

  • Your price list by service and hair length, your deposit rule and your cancellation policy.
  • Which stylist does which service, and how long each appointment takes.
  • Your real availability, so it never double-books a chair.
  • Everything else is escalated to a person, with the customer's details attached.

What it will not do: it does not give professional advice, does not diagnose, and does not pretend to be a human when asked directly.

What is at stake

A braid or colour appointment is often R800 to R2,500, and a good client returns every four to six weeks. The lifetime value of one regular client is many times a monthly plan.

You do not need a marketing budget to fix this. You need the enquiry answered while the customer is still holding the phone.

Answers in seconds

Website chat, WhatsApp and after-hours enquiries get a real answer immediately, not an auto-reply that says “we'll be in touch”.

Only the leads worth your time

Every enquiry is checked and scored. Hot, contactable leads come to your phone with one tap to call or WhatsApp. The rest wait in a daily summary.

Written down, every time

Name, number, what they need and permission to reply. One place, not five apps and a notebook.

How it works

  1. See it on your own business. The free demo is built from your website in about 30 seconds. No card, no call.
  2. Check the answers. We load your services, prices, hours and rules, and you correct anything that is wrong.
  3. Switch it on. It answers your website chat and WhatsApp, books into your calendar, and sends the leads to your phone.

Most salons are live within a day. The 14-day trial needs no card, and there is no setup fee on Essentials or Growth.

What it costs

One price list, no per-lead charges, no annual lock-in.

Rand prices exclude VAT. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial, no card. If AskZuri does not bring you work in 60 days, we keep working free until it does.

Questions salons ask

Can it take deposits?

It can send your payment link and hold the slot, then confirm once you mark the deposit received. Card processing stays with your existing provider.

Will it sound like a robot to my clients?

It uses your own service names, prices and tone. Most clients cannot tell, and it never pretends to be a person when asked directly.

What about clients who only use Instagram DMs?

Point the DM link at your AskZuri WhatsApp number, or let it answer website chat. Instagram's own inbox needs a paid API and is not connected by default — we will not pretend otherwise.

Can it fill a last-minute gap?

Yes. When a slot opens you can send a short WhatsApp to your waiting list. That is a message to people who asked to hear from you, not a cold blast.
